Hi Bryan, I just read this thread and wanted to contribute that my '85 Westy's fuel pump was always noisy, especially so when the filter needed changing, but it went a couple hundred thousand miles with a constant buzzing. It did finally give out, and the new one was quieter, but ... Karl Wolz
