Thanks to everyopne for replying to this. We were able to get the issue
sorted out yesterday - we reomved the filter and pump - allowed the gas to
drain back fromt he engine and a bit fromt he tank. Blew out the filter.
Hooked it all back up and things are good now.

I know I still have to address the gas tank but that will have to wait a
week or so - so for now I'm on the road and running good.
