Sidewall pressure is nearly always the MAX pressure for the tire, and if the tire is the correct spec for the vehicle, then using the vehicle pressure is recommended (but not less). I've had two different Contis before, and the max pressure was either 55 or 65psi, but I usually ran then between 40-50, since I have a Westy that is usually loaded up. At max pressure they were very harsh. Currently I run BFG A/Ts which are slighltly under-spec on the rear, so I run them at or near max press of 50psi. On the front, Yoko Y370 LR D are over-spec, so I can run them as low as 35psi, but usually around 45psi. My van is usually loaded around 4500 lbs or more when travelling.
