Annie, I thought I had a problem with a tank that runs empty when the gauge needle reaches the first line below the half tank mark. I think that mark is 1/4 full. If I let the needle just touch that line, I need about 12 gallons. Yours makes mine seem like no problem at all. My tank was "dinged" before I got the camper. Looks like someone mistakenly put a lift pedestal on one of the straps for the tank. I'm going to replace the tank within the next couple of weeks. I'm ordering the tank from Bus Depot (the only current source I can find, though lots of places list it, none seem to actually have or be able to get it). You might check under your van and see if the tank appears to have a big dent. ---- Annie <lsandrsn@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > Ok all, I seem to have an issue I don't understand. > > My uncle (a mechanic) just finished doing tons of work on the Vanagon - > axles, bearings, brakes, cv joints, carpet, bumpers, wheels/tires, > transmission service, tune up, oil change, rear heater core and as you can > see, just a bunch of stuff (yes, including fuel lines). > > But . . . every time I "fill" the gas tank (third time was Sunday > afternoon), it only takes between 8-9 gallons.
