Wrap it in a rag and use Vise-grips. The correct answer is to use two nuts of the correct threads, run against each other, and then turn it out. Good luck on finding two nuts that large, handy for use! ________________________________ From: Jim Davis <SyncroHead@AOL.COM> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Sent: Mon, May 10, 2010 10:44:41 AM Subject: Oil Filter Tube Mount Removal? Hi gang! I'm in the midst of swapping a 2.1L engine into my '84 Westy. I need to remove the oil filter mount tube from the 1.9L engine to install it on my 2.1L engine. This item is just a short pipe "nipple" threaded into the block on one end and the oil filter threads onto the other end. How do I remove this part without damaging it? Jim Davis
