As the Passat wheels are not designed for the Van application it can be all
risk from there. Machining and adding spacers can only make things worse.
What is their weight rating? What is the designed tire diameter?

I am in the market for new rims and tires. I would really love to use
Passat 5 double spoke rims but I am a little hesitant to use wheels
that need to have their center hole machined.  Does anyone on the list
have any idea about this?  Is it dangerous?  The passat rims have a
57.1 mm center hole.
