Subject:Battery Problems- Slow Cranking
From:craig cowan

SO,
I have a mystery set of electrical issues.
My battery keeps testing good. It has 650CCA and holds 12.6volts, only going
down to about 11.5 on cranking.
My alternator (Bostig ZETEC) is a 110amp alternator and is testing at
13.2Volts and 75amps (at the battery) which is low bus supposedly within a
reasonable level of what it should be.

Symptoms:
If the car sits for any period of time, even an hour, it will barely crank
over. Very Labored. Once it finally catches it runs great. If i drive it for
more then 10 minutes, it will put enough of a charge into it that if i shut
it down and restart it pretty promptly, it fires right up. The longer it
sits, the more it sounds like it won't start. Jumping it, even just off a
second battery always makes it spin super fast and fire right up. So to me
this tells me either my battery is not getting charged well, or not holding
a charge at all.
Since the battery is testing good..... do you think it's the alternator?

I'm running out of ideas/methods to test.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
