mmm I see.

I'm not going to bring up the added wrinkle of the silver being more
thermally conductive...ie transferring more heat to your hand because
I guess that also works both ways, transferring heat to fibreglass :)

RE: Pop Top Color and Reflective Paint
Question: If I paint the top of my pop top white or silver will it be
cooler in the Sun? I discussed this with an auto body/paint shop one
time. He had me walk out to the parking lot by the shop where there
was a car painted white and one painted in silver metallic sitting in
the Sun. He had me put my hand first on one, then the other. The
white car was comfortable to the touch, the silver very hot, almost
to hot to keep your hand on. So that answered the question. If you
want to reflect the heat of the Sun from your top, using conventional
auto paints, go with the white. There may well be some special silver
paint out there that is more reflective but from what is readily
available the white is better.
BTW, still haven't had that done but still on 'the list'.
