hi, I agree... you don't find that many DK's in dead vans these days. I saw one in a funky VW shop recently .. the guy showed me how a clip fell out of place in the shift cover ... and that is probably why it got removed from a van. I got it for 40 bucks. now I have the shift cover from a DZ diesel vanaogn trans on it, and Diesel bell housing ... and it seems tight, and all the gears are there...next step is to try it out in a diesel vanagon. so 500 eh ? scott ----- Original Message ----- From: "Greg Potts" <greg@pottsfamily.ca> To: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> Cc: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, June 06, 2010 7:12 PM Subject: Re: Air Cooled Transmission value > Hi Scott, > > I guess a lot depends on location and application. > > Out here around the great lakes, the 091 transmission is very popular with > sand rail and dune buggy builders.
