That thing appears to be for the sole purpose of blasting cool air in 1 direction. It appears geared to cool a workers in a set location. Note the hot air output is on the side of the unit and just sends hot air out of the unit. Theoretically, if you used that inside your sealed van without that hot air vented to the outside it's just going to get hotter in inside. I got a giggle from the video where it says it can get 4+ gallons of water out a day as a dehumidifier and has a 2.5 liter water collection pan.... hmmmm Bryan -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of David Wilhite Sent: Tuesday, June 08, 2010 9:56 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: AC While Camping - Portable Unit Anyone ever try something like this? http://www.globalindustrial.com/g/hvac/air-conditioning/portable/portable-spot-cooler-air-conditioner?ref=h/pricealert It's more pricey than a window unit, but may be easier to lug around.
