Wow!  That's amazing.  No wonder you're going berserk.

I find the slight muffling to be interesting.  Might be an artifact
but to me it doesn't have the clear ring of two heavy parts tapping
together.  More like something heavyish and some sheet metal.

Suggest trying to duplicate with the back up on stands...and not
kidding about mechanical stethoscope.

Or else let the Ancient Mariner out of the double bottom.
