Subject:2wd front hub machining

Can anyone give me some practical, first hand knowledge or pass me on to
someone you know who has milled down the "snout" on the front hubs in an
effort to mount different wheels. I am not going to mill the center bore of
the wheels for the sake of safety and personal preference. The hub is about
63 mm and the center bore on the wheel is 57 mm plus another 2 mm at the
least for clearance. I'm just wondering how far you/they cut the hub down
and what dust cap did you use. I'm not at the point of switching over to a
complete big brake kit and I have two spare hubs staring me in the
face. Oh, it's an 87 Wolfsburg 2wd.

Thanks,

TJ
