So I just bought an older (and thus sturdy and well built!) Police style
post mounted spot light at a VW show. I got it for a great price, but a few
people have since informed me that if I install It.... doing so is illegal?

I have searched online and cannot find any information regarding this. Does
anyone know if these are actually illegal to possess? It would be nice to
know before I drill a nice hole in the A pillar (Crap van, getting scrapped
soon, going to be mindful of wires in the A Pillar).
