Dear sensitive Jake. It's posted with the warning "Sad Story". Don't read it if you don't want. It's Westy related, it's part of our community. May the parents somehow get over this, I just don't see how. If you are talking about the piece of plywood, that's a warning for all of us. I was just going to thank David for making me rethink the piece of warped 1/2 inch sitting in the back of my pickup. It could have just as easily been put on top of a van and blown away if not secured correctly. We have all seen that happen, usually without major mishap. Whatever. What is your problem? tim in san jose On Mon, Jun 21, 2010 at 12:55 PM, Jake de Villiers <crescentbeachguitar@gmail.com> wrote: > That's really nice but this is The Vanagon List, not "Gruesome Stories from > the Road". > > If I wanted to hear about negative news I'd read a newspaper or watch Fox > News. > > Thanks, Jake > > On Mon, Jun 21, 2010 at 12:06 PM, David Beierl <dbeierl@attglobal.net>wrote: > >> At 02:42 PM 6/21/2010, Roger Whittaker wrote: >> >>> condolences to the unknown friends in their time of loss >>> thanks *Bjrn for letting us know if this ... >>> >> >> And I have another cautionary tale -- a friend of mine, a monk actually and >> a friend of a friend of Boston Bob, was driving from Maine to Boston in a >> Ford F500 (750?) with dump body and high wooden sides. An unsecured sheet >> of plywood came out of the bed and killed the driver behind him. I *think* >> he was charged with manslaughter. >> >> Yours, >> David > > > > > -- > Jake > > 1984 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX 'The Grey Van' > 1986 Westy Weekender/2.5 SOHC Suby 'Dixie' > > Crescent Beach, BC > > www.thebassspa.com > www.crescentbeachguitar.com > http://subyjake.googlepages.com/mydixiedarlin%27 > -- Where ever you are, there you be. Unless you're driving my van, in which case, you ain't got there yet.
