Extra noise suppressor. Many Westfalia's had them on the output and the lead for the warning light circuit. I was trying to get to my Idle Control Computer and found this thing hidden in the space: http://picasaweb.google.com/garciasghostvw/MysteryDoohickey#5483214385772111 618 It looks like something I would've found in Grandaddy's barn, and therefore I want to think it has something to do with horseshoeing, but I don't know. I decided to put the alternator from my '86 in my '87 because I thought it was making some bearing noise, and when I picked it up it was like this: http://picasaweb.google.com/garciasghostvw/MysteryDoohickey#5483214459268981 010 That wasn't the way the alternator was configured in the '87 so I changed it around. Anybody know what's going on there? Cya, Robert
