Got the tags for the Beetle today and only 50.00 for 5 years as Antique
status.  No inspections required. BTW-Did not even ask if I had insurance.

Now...I haven't looked into this yet, but since they gave me only one
Antique plate and stated that is all that is required...I need to look into
a ticket I got a couple of weeks ago in the Van.  My front plate was on the
dash and I got ticket bcuz it was not on the bumper.  Duck taped it and
gotta pay 12.00 to dismiss.  Wonder if I NEED to have it on the dash per
Texas DMV.  If anyone knows, lmk, otherwse I will look around.
More importanatly...my stock plate holder was detroyed by a falling branch
on the day I got the ticket.  Don't wanna drill into the bumper if  don't
have to, but any probs with that or any other placement suggestions/options?
Anyway, good deal on the 25 year old vehicle plates in Texas.
