Well, I have a mix of Shock Proof and MT-90 - - somehow, reading the Bentley I had the idea that I only needed 3 qts, so picked up 3 qts of Shock Proof and 3 of MT-90. Took all three Shock Proof and had to use the MT-90 to finish filling. :( The guy I spoke with at Red Line a couple of years ago recommended Shock Proof for the Diesel Vanagon transaxle. The vehicle I put it in is an '85 waterboxer, was getting problematic shifting from 1 to 2 especially when cold. Been in for a little over one year. Shifts pretty good now, though! :) Gary > > Date: Fri, 25 Jun 2010 21:56:26 -0700 > From: Scott Daniel - Turbovans <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> > Subject: Re: Redline Heavy Shock Proof Gear Oil ? - Daryl ? try again ... > > Hi all, ( sorry 1st one got sent accidently ) > > Was just picking up some Redline MT-90 gear oil for a new rebuilt AA > Transaxles syncro trans... and noticed Redline Shock Proof Gear oil in the > store. ... > > on the bottle in the store it said 'for racing applications'... > > on this site for 'Redline Heavy Shock Proof Gear Oil' > http://www.carshopinc.com/product_info.php/products_id/45596/58206 > > it says 'for problem gerboxes' ...( I like the sound of that ! ) > > what I want to know is : > anyone use this stuff ? > is it good ? > etc. . > thanks, > scott >> >>
