 From what you've described on the Samba, you've got Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde there.  Which one are  you going to be dealing with?

FWIW my counsel is to be there in person, have an agent (someone from
the list, perhaps, might be willing to hire on for the purpose) there
in person, or walk away from this deal.  There's been enough funny
stuff already to make you uncomfortable, and with good
reason.  Listen to your gut.  Life is long and there will be other deals.
