After about 45 min running idle, it stopped. Fuel press. was down to 15. Turning ignition on did not activate the pump. I changed the 24 relays, no difference. Put in a different computer, same. I was working on it fast but not fast enough to have maybe enough time lapse that it would start again anyway. Nevertheless, I cleaned up the frame and the end of the ground wire and put a new SS screw in there. Then it started. Now, I'm not sure whether it would have started again anyway or not as it has cooled down by that time. But it's running now and I put back all the original 24 relays and the computer. Holding fingers. Germany won against Urugway. Zoltan OOOops, it has just stopped. I'll go and see what it is. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2010 1:09 PM Subject: Re: 40 minutes drive and then cuts out. >I just fixed, pretty sure, intermittent no-start on a 1.9 waterboxer... > was running and starting just fine. > then wouldn't start.. > found no ignition.. > then a while later , it had ignition. > put in a different distributor .. > fixed. > bad hall unit is my thinking. > > I put a fuel pressure gauge on a long hose to the front so I could watch > it. > this van has 30 psi fuel pressure on it for hours after shutting it off. > Like it should. > > think about the distributor or connections to it, grounds, and hall sender > inside the distributor. > Scott > www.turbovans.com > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Zolly" <zolo@FOXINTERNET.NET> > To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Saturday, July 10, 2010 12:07 PM > Subject: 40 minutes drive and then cuts out. > > > I am puzzled and baffled.
