kind of a guess on the fed requirement for the OXS.. that was about when many cars started having oxygen sensors .. that counter system was common on VW's at the time... mabye I was just guessing too wildly there saying having that warning was an actual federal requirement .. but how about this one ../........ that little diagram next to the heater controls.... that shows all levers right and fan on # 2 for defrost. . that IS a fedeeral requirement, that that discription and diagram there. so why do you think candian model sycnro's don't have the warning light ? I saw the comment on figuring that syncro's would get more dealer service. scott ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alistair Bell" <albell@shaw.ca> To: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@TURBOVANS.COM> Cc: "vanagon vanagon" <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, July 13, 2010 6:14 PM Subject: Re: OXS sensor light question > Hard to understand what you mean Scott... > > are you saying that an oxs sensor light is not US federally mandated and > that's why a Canadian market vanagon does not have it? > > > No DRL on the '86. was later. > > alistair > > > > On 13-Jul-10, at 1:47 PM, Scott Daniel - Turbovans wrote: > > re > I wonder why this Canadian stickered '86 syncro does not have those > things." > > perhaps because they are not US federally required things .. > like key-in-ignition warning buzzer ... > I always remove those anyway .. > > does your canadian model have Daytime Running Lights ? > I believe some do.
