Embarrassed by the sound! This thing had the worst exhaust leak ever, the front pipe was rusted through on both sides at the flange. It was almost impossible to talk while riding in it. I did forget to mention a couple of things though. While working under it, I did see one drop of coolant from the left head, and for some reason my temp gauge stopped working again. It had started working a couple of weeks ago. I ache from my hair to toenails, and I have two shirts I may just throw away. When my wife left an hour ago she wouldn't get near me, told me i was the dirtiest and smelliest she'd ever seen me in 28 years. Good idea to have it done somewhere! A few hours on Saturday, about 5 hours yesterday, and ALL day today. Tow studs snapped off, so I helicoil those. An I am back to all stock hangers/mounting points, the rusty system had about a dozen (not kidding) coat hangers holding it on. Why, this job was so magical that when I started the engine gold fairy dust blew out the tail pipe! (at least now I HAVE a tail pipe) Yeah, sure, it was innards from the cat. Anyway, a short test drive to the store to get wine and nacho fixin's was nice and quiet . Return trip i even listened to the stereo! At least now my wife will be (somewhat) less embarrassed to ride in it! Congrats on the successful installation! I have been dreading this for awhile now as my 84 still has OG exhaust except for muffler, HD strap, tail pipe & connector pipe on left side. I will probably get new exhaust system from 1 of the vendors & have it professionally installed since I tend to spend less that way than by doing it myself, if you know what I mean? YMMV, Mr. BZ-embarrassed by what? Jeff Stewart
