no, you're not being unreasonable due to emotions.
it IS worth more than 4K unless it's a beater.
this is typical..
'the world' of insurance companies is not the same as 'our world' about
Westy's and vanagons.
we know your van is worth probably 7K, even more.
need to convince them.
happens all the time.
you do not have to accept their first offer or anything like that.

Subject: Valuing Our Rigs. Hail Damage
Hey Folks,
My 84 Westy was recently victim to a hail storm and suffered some damage on
most of the panels except the tail gate. Of course the estimate for fixing
the dents around the panels and repainting, since piantless dent repair was
not recommended on the fix, the cost is close to what the NADA or Bluebook
value my year and model. The insurance company will no doubt total it at
this price.
My question is......Has anyone ever tried to re-value their van with an
insurance company or banking institute? This van is in great original shape
(107500 original miles) and I want to get it fixed back to that as much as
possible. It surely has to be worth more than 4K. Am I being unreasonable
due to emotions?
Any comments welcome.
Thanks all,
