Steve, I did exactly the same operation you are preparing for and had no problems what so ever. I use my 4 Thule brackets to support two cross poles which I mount 2 45lb kayaks. The only problem that this has created is that even when the kayaks are unloaded, I still need help to raise the pop top when camping - but no problems at all with the installation or usage afterwards.
