First of all, I'm not one of the "usual suspect experts" with trannies here,
and you'll hear from them I'm sure,
but I'd suspect your syncro ring is the culprit. Sometimes the 3-4 slider
cracks/breaks but that usually gets
you stuck in either 3rd or 4th.
My suggestion, if you don't want to invest in a rebuild right now, change
your gear lube to Redline 75-90
and see if that "improves" your symptoms .... and slow down your shifting
considerably, which may extend
whatever life is left in your syncro ring.
