no problem .. sometimes I don't follow things not spelled out exactly. the stuff looks good to me. 650 F sounds pretty 'up there' . for a reference or comparison .. redline exhaust temp in a turbo diesel engine is 1,200 F .. like aluminum pistons start melting at 1,250 F. makes 650 sound pretty good to me. we'll see what others say. ----- Original Message ----- From: "neil n" <musomuso@gmail.com> To: "Scott Daniel - Turbovans" <scottdaniel@turbovans.com> Cc: <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2010 7:13 PM Subject: Re: Dometic Intake & Exhaust Gaskets: Use Hi Temp RTV? Hi Scott. Yup. This is about the Westfalia Dometic 182 fridge. Product I'm referring to is Peratex High Temp Red RTV. Product page from their website: http://tinyurl.com/23hvnjr <-- That page says product good for "-65F to 650F". But....... The original gaskets look to be made of asbestos or something skookum, so I wasn't sure if using the Red RTV was ok. Sorry for not being specific about which Dometic I was referring to! :) Neil.
