hinterlands.  The main suppliers are Haribo and Trolli.

They pack easily, don't require cooking, come in an amusing array of
colors, and can be used to decorate the windshield when one is bored.
Then when disaster strikes you can just pick a few, gobble em up, and
smile.

Betcha can't eat just one.
