I had forgotten the brand/model of the one I keep in the glove box in the van. Extech Pocket IR Thermometer D:S 6:1 Temperature range -58F to 518F This one: http://www.transcat.com/Catalog/productdetail.aspx?itemnum=98056TE Small, accurate, easy to use, easy to stow, uses 1 AA battery IIRC. bob
