That's easy:  They morph into wire coat hangers.  Haven't you noticed all
the wire coat hangers that just appear in your closet?  And that's what
happens to bumper jacks for US cars too.  Ever buy a used piece of Detroit
iron? No bumper jack, right?  And they never appear at garage sales either,
they have become wire coat hangers....
