Many earlier Vanagons will be marked on the back right 'VanagonL" and some "GL" but most later models I've seen are the GL trim package. "L" trim was rubber floor mats, no tach (analog clock instead) and more Spartan interior trim all around. GL trim package included carpets, tach, digital clock, and fancier trim panels on the inside. I'm sure there is someone out there that can come up with a brochure that lists exactly what the GL option included.
