Happy Friday all,

One of the two cables that raise/lower the glass in driver’s side power window regulator (pn 251.837.461) snapped on 91 Weekender.  Since OEM replacement is NLA, the options are: buy aftermarket, find used, rebuild.

I’ve installed the aftermarket replacement, but am not happy with it.  It works ‘just OK’; but my main issue is not being able to reinstall my higher-end mid-range speaker in it’s original (the stock) location.  In examining the original regulator, it looks like the cable inside can be replaced, making the unit functional again.  Anyone have experience trying this?

Otherwise, anyone have an old one available floating around out there that I can purchase?  (With or w/out motor OK.)  Of course, the two main VW wreckers here in the Seattle area (Campbell Nelson & Absolute German) have none.
