get some good synthetic spray penetrating grease from a FLAPS or hardware store. spray lube the sliders/tracks mainly. in general .... If it's rusty, treat it and paint it. if it moves, lube it. even westy cabinet latches, ash tray lid pivot points , seat belt latches .. everything that moves and touches anything else needs lubrication, with a few exceptions. you hear a squeak, ..that's the sound of molecules of material being sheered off. lube keeps the parts from actually touching and wearing. a little bit goes so far too ! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Hineline" <hineline@OCOTILLOFIELD.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, September 26, 2010 6:48 PM Subject: Lubricating the seats > Tried a search in the archives (lubricate, seats, seat rails) and got > nada. > > How best to lubricate seat rails and moving parts? > > Mark >
