The button is hanging up on the plastic bezel, holding it down; maybe got "under" it due to a well-intentioned but too aggressive effort to reset clock by pushing in too hard. Get a toothpick or something, try to wiggle it around to get the plastic button to pop up. If still unsuccessful, remove instrument cluster, take apart things to get to clock and buttons, and "unstick" button that way. The LCD clock works just like a digital wristwatch or remote control on TV....if the button is stuck down, the hours or minutes fly by. Very common problem, easy fix.

Hi Volks,

The clock on my wife's 88 wolfsburg reads the minutes correctly but the
hours are constantly incrementing. I have tried pressing the buttons but
the hours don't stop changing no matter what I do.

Has anyone here seen this issue on their van? How was it resolved? I
also own a functional clock sitting in a 1990 golf; would that be usable?

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Happy Trails,
