re " I'm not sure what makes the difference" ( twixt the allen and 12 point type CV joint screws ) the 12 point ones seem made out of lot harder material to me. I think I have seen just one of those strip out , of hundreds of CV's I've installed or removed. and I've stipped out countless 6mm allen ones unscrewing them. Whenever convenient I convert to the 12 point ones. scott turbovans ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike South" <msouth@GMAIL.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Tuesday, October 12, 2010 1:44 PM Subject: Re: Kick Butt tool for removing stripped/ruined allen bolts from CV's. > On Mon, Oct 11, 2010 at 5:20 PM, Mark Hineline > <hineline@ocotillofield.net>wrote: > >> Okay, but Courtney, aren't these twelve-points, not allen bolts? >> > > Depends--I have an 85 Westy AT with twelve-points and an 85 MT GL with > allens.
