Wrapping fuses in tinfoil is just begging for an electrical fire if something shorts along the way BTDT over 3 decades ago when I was stupid. Glass fuses (GBC) from Buss or Littlefuse are fine. If using the Ceramic style make sure their strips are brass or copper. Cheep aluminum strip fuses oxidizes and creates an open circuit, thus nothing works, especially in humid, moisture rich areas. Something I learned from my aircraft-minded late father. That's all I use in my VWs and 914. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing Since March 1999 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Mon, Oct 18, 2010 at 5:43 PM, David Beierl <dbeierl@attglobal.net> wrote: > At 04:15 PM 10/18/2010 -0700, Mike Miller wrote: > >> I found some of those torpedo looking fuses but can't tell what value they >> are.
