Here's one I've never seen mentioned.

   Has anyone ever improved/restored the function of the "door-holder-open"
whatever you call it for the front doors on their vanagons?  My 84, while
the doors do still have some 'retention' when opened...the retaining
function is weak.  The doors blow closed, they won't stay out when the van
is tilted, and they swing closed on my legs, feet, whatever, without
warning.  I'd like to fix that if anyone knows how.
