I have both, seems like they sound similar when you listen at the back air vents. Underneath or behind is a different sound. My '79 AC sounds more 'beetle" like than the Vanagon. The'79 wind noise is also louder. Maybe just me, but the Vanagon WBX sounds a little deeper than the "79 2.0...
