Subject:Re: Frozen Windshield Washer Fluid Tip
From:Alistair Bell

I'm here, taking a break from making stage prop weapons.

I dunno about the evap thing. i have noticed wiper fluid going slushy
and even freezing to windscreen in low temps (-20 C). I could be
convinced of alcohol evap on windscreen, I'm not so sure about the
nozzles.

Maybe the nozzles get "contaminated" by melted ice and thus reducing
antifreeze conc. But as i said, I'm eye deep in middle earth goblin
axes :)

Where's Alistair when he's needed? Cuz that's a can of worms for sure.
I have a problem envisioning a significant (if any) amount of alcohol
evaporating through those two tiny nozzles, unless you were to leave
the liquid in there for a year or more. At that point it could have
escaped through the porous plastic reservoir, but say it somehow was
proven to be true, wouldn't the installation of a simple w/washer
check valve resolve this issue? (insert happy face here so I don't get
in trouble)
