What the heck is wrong with using yer steering wheel to lever
yourself in?  It works for me.

  Problem I have now is that now I have a big giant non PS steering
wheel in the Westy, I have to be careful how I slide out else I gets
stuck  in the seat.

  Wonder if you was to combine the big giant steering wheel with the
seat out of a passenger bus, the wheel would contact the seat...
