I just finished the installation of a 2.5 liter in my van, and I think by
some awful coincidence my fuel pump went bad between taking the old vw motor
out and putting the new Subaru in.

I tested with a test light that I have power at the pump terminals and ...I
do.  I also know for sure I have 7+gallons in my fuel tank.  I don't hear
the "whir" sound when turning the ignition on.  If I pour a little fuel in
the intake it fires up immediately!

I thought I read someone saying there was a cheaper fuel pump that specs out
for some other car(ford somethign maybe?) that works well...

Am I dreaming this up? or does anyone know?
