Great ideas except: 1) Having to remove the headrest in order to free the rucksack for usemight be mildly troublesome. 2) Having the tools so "at the ready" might prompt the van to insist that occasions arise in which you need to use them. Best to keep them hidden away so as not to arouse the van's more sinister inclinations. Stephen --- On Mon, 1/17/11, Mark L. One is a dedicated Westy/Vanagon rucksack with an extension that attaches to the back of the passenger seat - basically, a piece of finished cloth with two big grommets that you put the headrest through. Instead of or in addition to the hanging strap, there will be a mechanism -- a zipper or something -- that attaches the rucksack. This puts everything in the rucksack in a dedicated place, and you release to go for a hike or whatever. If I were doing this for a business I would dig up enough seat material to make the pocket flaps match the seat. The other thing is a tool organizer that hangs on the back of the Westy closet, with a pocket for each tool, and a zippered cover to keep it covered lest prying eyes see it. Mark
