Power lock cycling could be a wiring problem or a bad actuator on one of the front doors. A trick for all is to know which fuse controls them and when they go wonky pull that fuse. The continued cycling will destroy all the actuators and can also leave you with a dead battery. Since both front door locks are masters, either a short or broken wire can make things go crazy. It is common for the wires to break in the sleeve in the door hinge area. First they started locking and unlocking continuously, so I immediately took it to the place that installed my remote locks. When they removed the remote locks, my driver and hatch door would not unlock, and the passenger and side door would not lock. It is now at Bela's Garage being fixed. Bela told me that power lock trouble happens because the vanagon is old, or if rain gets into the lock. I don't have a garage or carport, but I didn't notice any water leaks, either. I'm wondering if my remote locks had anything to do with the problem, because I enjoyed my remote locks, and would like to get a new remote if safe to do so. Has anyone had trouble with power locks?
