Yep - this is on the To-Do list for sure now - already have the cable.  Thanks Marius. It's nice to know what the actual (measurable) effect can be!

"I had similar measurements, and changed out the ground cable from the battery to the body (and replaced the corroded old ground screw with a shiny new stainless).  Increased my voltage by a half-a-volt."
