I always thought that Vanagon might be an attempt by VW as the name of
shape, like hexagon, pentagon or polygon.

Let's hope they will never become, well, gon.

They would have done better with bus, though. When I had splitties and
my loaf, the were buses. I would have been happy to continue the
tradition by calling my Vanagons that, but VW had to get all clever on
us.
