Last I saw, you had five at once! Cute ones, too! Karl Wolz _____ From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Mark L. Hineline Sent: Monday, February 07, 2011 6:01 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Learned in the past week Many of you already know this, so this is for newbies. If you are taking someone of the opposite sex for a first ride in your Westy, here's the way to do it. 1) Make sure that it's as clean as you can get it, and smells good. No patchouli oil, it's too stereotyped. Make sure the table is fastened so that it doesn't swing. 2) Just before you leave, put some very cold nonalcoholic drinks - orange juice, Coke, Fuji water - in the refrigerator. Don't bother to turn it on, it doesn't matter. 3) Also, make some ice in the ice tray beforehand. Wrap this in an ice pack so that the little cubes don't melt. 4) Put a couple of very clean glasses in the cabinet. 5) Pick her up. (For most of us on this list it's a her.) 6) Walk her to the Westy and tell her that she really must ride in the back seat the first time. Open the slider, and ask her if she would like something to drink. Open the refrigerator door as you do this. Then put the ice cubes in the clean glass, pour the drink, and invite her to sit down. 7) Close the slider with authority. Don't slam it. Authority. This may be the most important move you make. 8) Go for your ride. Be sure to say "feels a little like a limousine, only better, doesn't it?" Also, for AFM Westies, be absolutely sure to say "That's the same engine that Porsche put in their 914." Nobody knows what a 914 is anymore. Now, I haven't gone any further than this. But what I already know is that girls and women like this first experience. For what it's worth. Mark _____ No virus found in this message.
