Neil,
remember there are 3  stock exh mounts, a pair in vertical orientation
and the third at an angle, on the driver's side. The stock mounts
provide limited movement, (you know all this!), and are fixed to the
engine, not body.

So I'd say that any substitute should copy the originals in above
features.
