I didn't.  Worked fine, especially with stiff 2ga wire.  It's a bit
difficult to find space in the battery box for wire that heavy, but it
worked.

I wanted to run new battery cable to alt, but Bently says you

A little loose is normal, and the design of the outlet sucks.  I replaced
mine with a dual outlet from West Marine.  Big improvement.
