one really should always have a known-good used fuel pump around. Just for a spare for trips. and there is a special tool ..it's a 'hose pusher offer' .. like a forked pliers .. basically essential for getting fuel hoses off things. I bought mine from a special tools, tool truck. not sure I've ever seen one besides mine, but they exist. and are indispensable. Just one of those learning experiences where a $20/30 minute job becomes a $200 weeklong-wait-for-the-parts-to-arrive job. Makes you cautious about touching anything unless you absolutely must. I changed the fuel filter and all has been good. I wonder how many fuel pumps get replaced because of partially clogged fuel filters? Since I'm guessing most folks would probably replace the filter at the same time they replace the pump, it might be assumed it was the pump when just the filter would have fixed it. Any recommendations on where to order one? Thanks, Andree PS so far no takers on my bent tan drivers door...
