I haven't followed the entire thread here but would add that those of
us who have Syncro's, AND directional tyres (Nokian for example)
sometimes get 6 tires and keep all 6 in rotation. I used 5 of them
and just had the one dismounted. In the end, well worth the little
extra effort and that spare, regardless of how it is directionally
mounted, can be used on either side for short distances.
