I had to replace this &%$#@ little bulb on the very first Vanagon I bought years ago, until then I never knew Virginia would fail you on state safety inspection if it didn't work. I was told it is a "wheat germ bulb", and you have to have the little blue cover (should have come with the bulb). But $7.50? A bargain! Back in 2003, a local VW dealer charged me TWENTY dollars for that stinkin' little bulb. Oh, yeah, wait a minute, that's 'cause I live right outside Washington DC, and we pay at least double for everything around here! Jeff Jeff Stewart That is not an LED. It is an incandescent bulb. These are the ones I have in stock that came from my local VW dealer. On 2011-03-09, at 11:49 PM, Robert Stewart wrote: > Just wanted to update you all. > > I ordered the bulb from the VW dealer. It was around $7.50 and looks nothing like the stock bulb. I am not sure if it an LED or Not but it is totally clear and has a flat top. > > I have posted some photos of it so you can see the difference between what I had and what they are now providing from VW. > > http://gallery.me.com/rmstewart#100265&bgcolor=black&view=grid >
