hi.. if yours are that shot then you need something for sure that will get it handled once and for all. I wouldn't quite regard stainless steel as 'forever' ...but certainly for a long, long time. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeff Lincoln To: Scott Daniel - Turbovans Cc: vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com Sent: Tuesday, March 08, 2011 6:25 AM Subject: Re: Re: '85 vs '90 : Gas tank and Gas tank Straps Scott, Cool thanks for the advice. As for the coolant pipes these look to be on their last legs. It appears the have already been cut into two sections - my guess is there was an issue int he middle at some point and the rust was cut out and replaces with a section of hose. I noticed while working on an unrelated issue that one of those pipes looks like it may have started to weep a bit of coolant - won't be long before that one is a goner. I'm sure the regular metal ones would be fine but I'd just as soon get the stainless and never ever have to think about them again. -- Thanks, Jeff '85 GL (Gertie) '90 Carat (Grover - the noble parts donor) '78 Bus (Melissa) Patty's Bus
